The car
The Toyota Hilux is a pick-up with excellent off-road abilities and lots of storage space, powered by a 3.0L turbo diesel engine. It comes with a manual or automatic gearbox. Very good fuel consumption and very reliable car.
It's our ideal option for families with bigger kids who already want to sleep in a separate tent, or a group of friends or 2 couples traveling together.
It suits families and groups of up to 5. The Hilux can carry one or two Standard rooftop tents side by side, so four people sleep up top (2 + 2). Like every car in our fleet it is a real 4x4 set up for Costa Rica's back roads, with a side awning and the full camping kit.
